Jiři David has created an edition of 33 works exclusively for Dvorak Sec Contemporary
Dvorak Sec Contemporary is proud to announce that it will offer a special edition of works created by Jiři David exclusively for Dvorak Sec Contemporary to commemorate the gallery’s grand opening.
Crown of thorns is a glowing neon media sculpture inspired by the neon crown David constructed above the roof of the classical exhibition and concert hall Rudolfinum in 2000.
For the past twenty-five years, internationally renowned Jiři David has been one of the most prominent figures on the Czech art scene. As an initiator of the artistic group "Tvrdohlavi" he has significantly contributed to the process of assimilation of elements from the postmodern culture into Czech art.
Jiři David is known to the public largely through his provocative interventions in public space and as an active participant in a considerable number of discussions and polemics on directions in Czech society and culture.
Dvorak Sec Contemporary will be the first art gallery in Prague to offer specially commissioned limited edition artworks by top contemporary artists. This service provides an affordable way to diversify one’s contemporary art collection with works by some of contemporary art’s biggest names.
