Teresa Matas started her artistic career after having devoted many years to the care of his husband and children. Slowly, working silently with passion in an old abandoned convent, she developed a profound and often dramatic reflection on feminine condition. Religious rules, topics, habits, activities and ideas expressing women’s role in society, as well as gender violence, are the themes of her paintings, sculptures, photographs, videos and installations.
