The trio Bolf – Písařík – Skrepl does not appear at a joint exhibition because somebody asked them to do so. We have the trio here as it naturally arose from a long-lasting connection between their creative interests.
Bolf, Skrepl and Písařík understand and influence each other. They are all interested in forms of demonstrating alchemical process of mind “art – matter – artefact”, which brings them close together.
Písařík does a research with an unrelenting interest in a prognosis of a shift of our common and social perception of civilisation and he therefore often gets on the borders of design. Bolf destroys existing pop-cultural codes by moving the focus from entertainment to mental, psychedelic level. Vladimír Skrepl is getting close to him, gnawing (deconstructing) another possession of the culture – the topic of painting – still life, portrait, signature, that have been telling us for centuries that the author wished to become part of an understandable system called “the art”.
The word “alchemy” stinks of something burning. From the nowadays scientific point of view, it was non-professional and from present-day culture point of view, it is a good spectacle for museums, however, as a way of interdigitation of man and matter, it has not been outmatched so far. If art that is not just a comment and that checks this interdigitation does exist, then it is the art created by Bolf, Písařík, and Skrepl.
